TKL V2
Naming of this keyboard is inspired by the Japanese art of paper folding, Origami. The designer has been fascinated by the concept of Origami since he was 5 years old. He remembers that his teacher teaching him and other classmates to make a crane from a bright red paper. The teacher also showed how to make other art pieces from the same paper on the same day. That was the basic idea behind this keyboard, a paper that could be transformed into so many models.
In collaboration between Atelier by Pluskb and Plexkbd Studio, this keyboard design combines a clean and classic aesthetic that I love from an earlier custom keyboard and then adds a modern touch and does not disrupt the classic look itself. The crane weight under this keyboard symbolizes the first Origami model the designer created when he was 5 years old. Instead of implementing simple engraving like other keyboards do, the designer incorporated a prismatic design of a crane into the design of the keyboard.
Design changes from V1 to V2
Top case
The design will be 99% the same as v1. The difference is that we will add an engraving above the arrow cluster. You can also get top case without any engraving like on the v1.
Plate
No changes at all. All aluminium plates in v2 will be black.
Internal weight
We are adding clearance for the stabilizer because we received feedback from some users who use plastic plates that they feel the stabilizer bottoming out when pressing certain keys with stabilizers. All kits will receive brass internal weight included.
External weight
Will be removed. We removed this part to reduce machining costs and time so that we could make the price similar to v1. In addition, with the removal of this one part, our team can perform QC more efficiently. You can also assemble the keyboard more easily.
Bottom case
We added clearance for the stabilizer. Since we removed the external weight, the outer part of the bottom case will look much simpler and cleaner compared to v1. The USB position will also change from the center to the right side. The bottom case will be silver for all colors, aiming to provide a color contrast between the top and bottom cases. Since the crane weight will be the same color as the top case, this will also make the crane weight stand out more. We will also offer a brass bottom case in v2 with a minimum order quantity (MOQ) of 30 pieces. V1 buyers can purchase the brass bottom case without having to buy the full kit if desired since it will be fully compatible with every V1 parts (top case, internal weight, crane weight, etc.).
Crane weight
We will add slots for magnets, just in case you want to glue some magnets to the bottom case and the crane weight. However, the crane weight will be installed with screws and without magnets attached during assembly at the factory, as in the V1. You will need to purchase the magnets yourself.

Origami TKL uses “industry-standard” components compatibility so you can easily buy or replace the component inside your Origami from our store or buy from 3rd party seller near you. We will also share the plate files in the future so you can create your own using the materials you want. Please feel free to recommend us plate material, there is a possibility that we will make it and sell it in the future if many of your requesting it.

Why choose a group buy over in-stock sales like in the v1?
The reason why we changed the sales method to group buy from the previous in-stock method like in v1 is so that everyone can choose the configuration they want without having to rush to buy it before it runs out.
When is the estimated shipping date?
The estimated shipping date is approximately 4 months after the group buy closes.
Can I purchase only the top case without buying the full kit?
Currently, we do not accept orders for the top case alone. If there is significant demand for individual top cases in the future, we may consider launching a separate group buy for this item.
Is there any warranty available?
For the keyboard case, after-sales support is available within 10 days of delivery. Please record a complete unboxing video to inspect the keyboard’s appearance during this period. If any issues are found, please contact our after-sales team.
For the PCB, the warranty period is 6 months from delivery. If you have any problem with your PCB, please reach out to our after-sales service. We don’t accept warranty claim for solder PCB that already soldered.
Are parts from V1 compatible with V2, and vice versa?
Yes, all parts from V1 are fully compatible with V2, and vice versa. But you need a shorter JST cable because in v2 we use much shorter JST cable.
Can I cancel or modify my order?
Yes, you can cancel or modify your order if the group buy is still open. But, if the group buy is already over, we can’t do any order modification after we have already submitted the order to our manufacturer. And if you decide to cancel your order, we will reduce 5% for PayPal processing fee from your order total value.
Will there be additional import tariffs for customers in the US and EU?
No, we offer DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping directly to your US and EU address, so no extra import charges will apply.
Why are no other vendors involved?
If there are other vendors involved in the process of selling this product, we are afraid that the selling price of this product will be too high for us because we have to account for the profit for each vendor.
Where will orders be shipped from?
All orders ship from mainland China.
